The number of patients with rectal cancer has been steadily increasing in the world every year. Extirpation is still preferred for lower ampullary cancer. The main problem of this surgery is a large perineal defect. There are many methods of perineal repair. Each of these methods is characterized by certain advantages and disadvantages. Various methods of repair including reconstruction using xenopericardial tissue are analyzed in the article.
