Abstract Tissue regeneration is currently one of the most important problems in esthetic medicine. The use of cellular products including adipose tissue-derived stromal vascular cellular fraction is one of the possible solutions in this area. Characteristics of cells, which may be obtained from adipose tissue, as well as potential advantages and disadvantages of different ways of their separation are described in this report. The main adipose tissue criteria are described in accordance with International Federation for Adipose Therapeutics and Science and International Society for Cellular Therapy guidelines.
